Ryan's Clip Joint

Edit/Update: 5 years later, I'm updating this review because Ryan is a true class act and a community staple in Morris Plains.

I've been getting cut by Ryan for 12 years. Seems crazy to say! I first came to Ryan's when he was still on Speedwell Ave, prior to his move over to Hanover Ave. My workplace had just moved offices from Morristown to Morris Plains and I was looking for a local barber. Little did I know that walking in that day would start a 12-year business relationship and friendship!

I have since changed jobs multiple times, but continue patronizing Ryan's business for his skill as a barber, his friendly demeanor, the warm comfort of the shop. I enjoyed Ryan's services so much that my father and I began going for cuts together a few years back, and we made it a father-and-son tradition, often getting lunch afterwards. That's what kind of place Ryan's is—You can always roll in for warmth, good conversation, good music, and comfort.

It's more than just a barber shop, it's a community pillar in Morris Plains. You will often see folks rolling in just to say hi or shoot the breeze, and a significant portion of Ryan's clientele has been coming to him for many years, if not decades. That speaks to the quality of his craft and the endurance of his business. My father and I visited through the pandemic (pictured - remember the masks!?) and have zero regrets.

Unfortunately since I have moved further away, I am no longer visiting Ryan, but will always remember the great times in his shop and strongly recommend him to anyone in the area. You really cannot do better.

I've been going to Ryan since he first opened in Morris Plains. Great barber....better person. You can't go wrong here. Make sure to call and make an appointment.

Just recently moved to the area a few months ago. Went to Ryan’s today for the first time with my 5yr old. We had the most positive experience!! He was so excited to meet all of my kids, was so interested in having a conversation with them, and was so patient during my sons haircut. It truly felt like we’ve been there before. He not only gave my son a great haircut, he made everyone feel welcome and at home. We are so happy and found our new regular place!

Been going to Ryan for close to 20 years now...ever since he was working for another local haircutter. Was so proud to see him open his own shop 15 yrs ago. Ryan is of the nicest guys you'll ever meet, and he happens to be an excellent barber too!

Ryan has been cutting my hair for over 5 years. No one cuts hair as well as he does. He is skilled, professional and reasonably priced. His shop is friendly and welcoming. You just can't beat the quality.
