What a great place for weekend escape! Beautifully located near Highway 80 along a little river. Large, shaded, clean campsites, valuable card, beautiful campground for kids. Cleanest, bathrooms, and shower I have ever seen. Allows pets, and some sites.
Nice campground with facilities and a playground. Very close to hiking trails etc. for those who might need it there is a hospital just down the road. Will come back someday.
Great park for tent camping. Very affordable, clean and a lot of wooded camp sites to better the experience. They also have restrooms, showers and $7 packs of firewood at the check in station.
Stayed at campsite #40, which is at the end of the one way. It was the last site closest to the road in which you exit the campground. The road is rather busy so you could hear the cars at all hours. The site was semi private from the site next to it and had a trail to get to the other site. There was little to no privacy from the sites across the road. The water spigot is directly across the street. The dumpster is also at the end of the road a few feet away.
The bathroom was clean with several stalls, had a dish washing station outside and showers were also available.
Firewood was for sale, but the office was closed so we could not purchase any - travelled to Lowes to pick some up.
The river was a good five minute walk down/up steep stairs. You cannot swim or wade in the water. The trails are great and they provide plenty of picnic tables along the river.
Camped here on a weekend in May 2021 and had a wonderful time. Fees are reasonable, the area is beautiful. There are numerous trails, but even walking by the river is nice. Our site (19) was right next to the bathroom/showers and dishwashing area. We anticipated that there will be a lot of traffic to the loo and were a little worried, but people were actually very respectful and quiet. The trees and the layout absorbed noises so that we hardly heard noises from the other campers. The only downside is that out campsite was very near to the other site on the other side (site 21). We were lucky that no one was camping overnight, because it would have been a less relaxing experience. A group of girl scouts day camped there on Saturday and it took all my reserves of patience. Thankfully, they left at 9 pm, but if there were campers there the whole time, it would have been a different experience. There are hammock sites, which are marked out in the map they give out. If you prefer hammock camping, do give the office a call and they can help you out. Office was responsive and helpful as I had to call them. The firewood was a good deal at $7 for a big bag with a fire starter.
