Tandoori Mela

I had an absolutely wonderful experience at Tandoori Mela in Basking Ridge! The food was bursting with authentic flavors — every dish was perfectly seasoned, fresh, and beautifully presented. The tandoori items were especially outstanding: juicy, smoky, and cooked to perfection.

The staff was warm, attentive, and made us feel right at home. The service was quick without feeling rushed, and the atmosphere was cozy yet vibrant — perfect for both family dining and casual evenings out.

It’s rare to find a place that balances quality, taste, and hospitality so well, but Tandoori Mela delivers on all counts. I’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Indian cuisine in the area.

The restaurant's ambiance was quite pleasant, offering a welcoming atmosphere. Unfortunately, the food completely failed to match the promising setting. The dishes were laden with an excessive amount of artificial food color, which was very unappealing. In fact, the taste was so poor and the quality so disappointing that we left most of our food on the plates. While the setting is lovely, we cannot recommend dining here based on our experience.

The food was AMAZING!!! Tasted like home! The server was absolutely sensational and welcoming, I came in with a party of 9 and he accommodated immediately and made us feel so welcome! Will come again

Ordered delivery - Do yourself a favor and order their tandoori garlic roti. It is the best roti I’ve had anywhere and personally, it’s better than garlic naan. It is cooked so fragrant and the garlic flavor is so delicious. I paired it with their palak paneer and I loved it so much. Their food is amazing and I want to come back and try more dishes!!

Delicious Indian food at a small neighborhood strip mall. We have ordered online for takeout as well as dining in. The lunch specials are available every day and include sides of lentils, vegetables, salad, rice and choice of bread - naan or roti. For our entrees, we ordered chicken korma, chicken Tikka masala, and Lamb roganjosh. We also ordered two orders of papadam as appetizer. We were waited on by Dinesh who was very hospitable and attentive.
