Cross country move. Armstrong helped us move and Kseniia was awesome in helping us, including when right before the movers arrived we had to change the plan and drop stuff at storage and then to the rental house. Our driver Dwayne was incredible and both local crews were wonderful. All my crystal and breakable items were intact! Thank you Armstrong team for helping us move almost 2K miles!

Our move went very smoothly. Our movers Mitchell and Corey were fantastic. They arrived on time and came prepared. They securely wrapped our glass tables and other items. Nothing was damaged or broken at destination. We were very happy with the service.

We used Armstrong for two cross country moves that involved packing, moving, and shipping both our household items and our two cars. Initially, we thought things would go smoothly because our emails and video calls with John, the president of the company went really well, and he seemed to have a good handle of our complicated move. Once our move got assigned to a coordinator, though, things started to fall apart, and both moves ended up going not as planned. Sandee straight up did not book the shipping for one of our cars, which we had no way of knowing until the night before when we realized we had received no information regarding our car shipment. When anything goes wrong, it is basically impossible to reach anyone at Armstrong by phone, and you just have to wait for them to respond by email and pray for the best. In our other move, they had put down that we would be packing everything ourselves, even though we had wanted the movers to pack it for us... and blamed us for this. Shouldn't this have been confirmed though, either way?

The entire process was honestly very difficult to manage, because Armstrong is basically a middleman company: your cross country move is actually being done with United Van Lines, but at your departure location and destination, there is a different, local company that does the moving (and packing/unpacking, if you requested that) for you. This makes communication with each of these separate companies very difficult. Similarly, moving your car is done via BlueStar, who then arranges a company to tow your car locally. Armstrong's role is simply to coordinate all of this, but their communication with both you and between all the different individuals involved is extremely poor.

Finally, the way they handle billing is not transparent at all. I have the sense that they are used to billing companies directly, and not individuals, but as a result of that it makes some of their billing policies not at all transparent.

I will update this review and stars once repairs are complete --
Armstrong was who was assigned to us when we chose to move cross country with United Van Lines. Hollie was our contact person and she is super nice, caring, and even called during the move to check on things which is amazing especially since we had some damages occur from both the packers on packing day and the movers on moving day. Hollie seems to deserve 5 stars for customer service. The two packers Kevin and Tom were super courteous and friendly and packed about 50 boxes of the fragile items (when we unpack will also update if anything broke). One caused damage to the ceiling but at least pointed it out to us, which we respect because accidents happen. The next day had 4 movers were all courteous. They caused about an 8 inch long damage to the wood on the side of the stairs, but none of them said anything and when we pointed it out (we kept asking them to tell us where they threw out the piece of wood chunk that came out so we could glue it back) they just wouldn't say anything at all - not even an apology! We told them accidents happen but please tell us where the chunk of wood went so we can fix. Finally the United driver went searching through all their trash and could not find it. So then there is the damage repair person Jenny Reese or Rice. She does not respond back. At first she had a repair person coming the next day, but then they couldn't make it and cancelled. Then the next person had covid and couldn't come. She was hard to track down, doesn't return calls, and doesn't give updates. I still don't think it's been fixed and it's been a week now. AND now the movers on the west coast caused deep gouges in the bamboo flooring in the new house after assembling a bed. ARGH! I cannot get a hold of this Jenny lady of course, so I need to start calling everyone at Armstrong Relocation until someone helps repair the damages caused by these movers. Accidents happen, but please communicate when things will be fixed! Will update this review with higher stars and details about the repairs once repairs are complete. Also, the United truck was supposed to come with a grandfather clock box specifically designed for grandfather clocks, but it didn't get in to the truck for some reason (United problem) but the movers seemed to have packed the clock ok so kudos to them on that one.
