My family and I had such a wonderful time at the Frelinghuysen Arboretum today! We tried the scavenger hunt and it was such a fun way to explore the park while also learning about the different plants and vegetation. It made the visit interactive for all of us, and we’re already looking forward to coming back and doing it on a monthly basis.
The grounds are absolutely beautiful and so well maintained! It's the perfect place to stroll, relax, and enjoy nature. Next time, we’re planning to bring a picnic and spend even more time soaking it all in. Such a gem in our community!
Holy smokes! This place is gorgeous. The gardens are so beautiful I wanted to stay all day. Many well groomed paths to walk on, water features, and an old mansion are some of the highlights. Would come back again!
1. Walkability – A wonderful place for a peaceful walk. The trails and paths are well laid out and surrounded by beautiful trees and gardens.
2. Photography – If you love nature photography, this is a must-visit! So many picturesque spots with flowers, textures, and serene corners.
3. Maintenance – The arboretum is well-maintained, clean, and clearly cared for. The gardens are lovely and inviting.
4. Parking – There is parking available, which makes access very convenient.
5. Hours – My only issue was that I arrived around 9:00 AM (as listed on Google), but the main gate was closed. I had to leave and return around 10:00 AM when it was open. It would be helpful if the hours were clearer or updated online.
Overall: A beautiful, calming space perfect for walks, photos, and a quiet moment with nature. I’ll definitely return!
