The Mews at Annandale Townhomes

My husband and I live here and at first everything was fine. Slowly things have gone downhill. The Mews is one of those places where everything looks nice and polished but in reality, they can't get things right and they offer less and less for your money.

First and foremost, there are a few good things. It's a low crime neighborhood and it's kept clean and tidy on the outside (mostly). That's about it.

The SERVICE here is QUESTIONABLE at best. They recently installed a system that shuts off your stove automatically when your (very sensitive) smoke detectors go off. During the install, they left our kitchen a mess with DUST, DEBRIS, AND DIRTY FOOTPRINTS in our unit. We keep a spotless home and require guests to remove shoes in the home. THEIR SERVICE STAFF DOES NOT RESPECT YOUR HOME. Every time they enter, there will be dirty foot prints all over your home. We have complained to management and it's fallen on deaf ears.

Also, their maintenance staff isn't the most skilled. We have had many instances where they couldn't figure out simple repairs or the repairs took far longer than they should have. They often times close out tickets about issues as fixed when nothing was done necessitating several calls to fix one issue. They are even slow to address parking lot lighting issues. It can be very dark in the lot when coming home at night and this place has sent warnings about bears. They should know better but they only care about your rent check.

I have seen a recent negative review of the Mews. I can concur that they have slowly curtailed freedoms we have enjoyed here for a decade while simultaneously increasing our rent. With the curtailing of the user of personal grills (which are kept far away from the buildings), the restrictions on smoking on your own deck, and recent limits on what you can even place on your deck, this place is about as good as an apartment/condo building. In fact, most condos and apartments do not restrict smoking on their balconies nor place restrictions on things like planters of flowers.

This place is no longer a good value and for these reasons we DO NOT RECOMMEND it nor will we be renewing our lease when it is up. They have very few amenities. Do not fall for their website showing newly installed amenities and freshly remodeled units. Those are few and far between.

I strongly URGE YOU TO RECONSIDER if you are contemplating renting at the Mews. One has to wonder if all Morgan Properties are POORLY RUN or if it is specific to the Mews.

I have lived here for a little over a year now and love the sense of community. I know my neighbors and meet new people at rhe dog park often. In the past month I have had a few things go wrong in the apartment and maintenance attended to them quickly and professionally. The office staff are pleasant to work with and always ready with a wave and smile as are the ground keepers. The ground s are lovely with a particularly relaxing with a trail by the stream and another in a short wooded path by the train tracks. While we may not have loads of shopping close by, there are plenty of quaint shops and restaurants in nearby Clinton and Annandale is a great place for me to call home.

Brandi and the rest of her staff including the maintenance staff as well are amazing. My wife and I been here for about 7 years now. We've never had an issue. Great place to live. Lot's of Amenities.
