I started going here when I was 12 (although I'd been going to CrossFit for roughly a year before I started here), and I am now 15. It became an integral part of my life, and I am eternally grateful that my grandparents had originally forced my baby self to try it out.

When I started, I was unstable, hyperactive, and a generally beta-male figure. Like everyone else my age, I didn't understand my place in the world. I grew out of it with a lot of help, a lot of time, and by various means, but this place was one of the biggest reasons for it. I was nearly impossible to deal with when I started, and it is a testament to Coach James and his team that he was able to deal with me when I was younger. As is typical for CrossFit, the workouts are very difficult no matter your skill level. This alone is a reason to join A GYM. Seriously, do that, it is an amazing stress reliever, and drastically improves your health. But beyond that, the community here is extremely tight, as Three Danes is relatively small and everyone knows each other, which enhances the workout dramatically because your fellow gymmates consistently cheer you on and motivate you, especially when the workout is especially difficult. I can tell you from my experience being very obviously NOT like my gymmates, as there is a huge age gap between me and virtually everyone else, that all of them are warm and supportive. Because of my age, I was actually kicked from my previous gym spot, and James was the only location anywhere that would accept me! There are frequent events, many of which are charities and include food (!!!!!), which are great fun and include very difficult workouts (usually), but are also excellent opportunities to connect with the community. There are times when it can feel sort of like church in that way- people from all walks of life join together to do something good for themselves and the world as a group, which is very beautiful.

Of course, there is also the amazing passion of Coach James and his team. He has an extraordinary knowledgebase regarding topics related to health and nutrition, and is a great resource, but beyond that, he has an amazing energy to him. He and his wife Holly are the kind of people who have that special quality of natural positivity emanating from them- they are always exceedingly jolly and eager to support you both on and off the rower. Yes, of course there is the aspect of motivation, but there is something else, a sense that they are absolutely gleeful in their job, and there is never even the slightest inkling that either of them have a bad bone in their bodies- to them, every new athlete is a flawed individual, and it is their job not just to improve their physical condition, but to support and nurture them into a greater version of themselves.

Their amazing passion is also embodied by their arrangement of other offerings. They routinely hold nutritional seminars, sell various supplements and other goodies at the front desk, and I believe they also have a masseuse. Crucially, these other offerings still maintain the central goal of assisting people in developing a higher level of physical fitness, and thereby overall satisfaction.

As for myself, I can't say where I'd be if it weren't for Three Danes, but it would probably be a much worse spot than I'm currently at. For real, it has helped me in more ways than I could think of, because the extent to which this gym has changed the direction of my life at such a formative point has been so extreme that it has influenced elements of myself I may not fully be aware of. I don't like giving reviews. I like giving five star reviews even less. It is for these types of things, those which have become fundamental to my satisfaction in life and have helped me discover & develop some aspect of myself I would never have in its absence, for which I reserve my highest praise.

Also, shout out to the dogs. They are very cute & are emotional support animals (:

I wound up at Three Danes because my gym closed unexpectedly at the end of May 2025. I was unsure at 1st and was actually going to two different gyms until I realized how good the programming is at Three Danea. As a coach myself consistent and challenging programming is key. The other amazing thing Three Danes offers is amazing coaching. James and Holli are knowledgeable in what they are doing and really go out of their way to help you get better. It doesnt matter if you have been doing this for 2 days or 5 years, they will make sure you are moving properly and at the level you are at that day.
Three Danes isn't juat a gym, its a family. Everyone of all ages and abilities works out together. Your having a bad day? Go to the gym I guarantee you'll walk out feeling better, I know I do. When my gym shut down I though I lost my family but I didn't I gained another one.
One more thing, tired of not knowing what to eat or how to eat. It is one of my biggest challenges and James will totally work with you and he will do it at your pace. He doesnt just throw a bunch of information at you and expect you to figure it out. Its just like his coaching he meets you where you're at and takes it at your pace.
My recommendation is if you're tired of where you're at, dont know what to eat, don't know what to do next or juat want to do something next give Three Danes a call. You won't regret it, I know I didn't.
Then when you come in, find me, my name's Jessica, I LOVE working out with new people and making friends.

I absolutely love this Crossfit gym! The coaches Holli and James actually pay attention to form, push you safely, and adjust movements when needed. Every workout is different, which keeps things exciting. I've gotten stronger and improved conditioning. The community is positive, supportive, and motivating. Great for all ages! Just try it!

Three Danes CrossFit is a great community to be part of! All the coaches are great, all the people you meet are great, they make you feel welcome at any time you take a class! I even go with my kids once in a while and they have plenty of toys for them to be entertained. Everyone is welcome!

Three Danes Wellness is an amazing gym! The coaches James, Holli, and the whole team are incredible and knowledgeable. I’ve worked out before, but I’ve never been able to push myself like I do here. I saw results fast going from barely running a mile to finishing a 5K without stopping. It truly feels like a family here everyone is friendly, supportive, and genuinely cares. Huge shoutout to Marc and Nirav for introducing me.
