This Funeral Home was the most helpful and caring place. They thought of all the details we forgot and worked with us on the price. I give them a rating of A++. They made such a difficult time easier! Jackie the Funeral Director went above and beyond, so thank you so much for your compassion!🙏🏻
My family and I don't have enough good words to say about Jackie and the entire team at Vander Plaat in Wyckoff. I can't imagine how hard it must be to constantly meet people having the worst day of their lives, and she was so gracious, made the process so easy, and was so understanding of our unique needs and requests. While I don't hope to require their services again soon, they have my highest recommendation.
This was my family’s first experience having to navigate planning the details of a funeral and Sean at Vander Plaat Funeral Home was with us every step of the way. My mom died suddenly and Sean’s expertise and compassion were what made this as stress free as possible. I never knew how many details went into planning a funeral but Sean calmly had it all taken care of for us professionally and in the most caring way. He was so easy to communicate with and very quick to respond whenever we had a question. I would definitely recommend Sean and Vander Platt Funeral Home.
I wholeheartedly recommend the Vander Plaat Funeral Home on Godwin Avenue in Wyckoff for their exceptional planning and compassionate execution of last rites for your loved ones. When my father, who lived to be 104, passed away, he had wisely prepaid for his burial with Vander Plaat, and it proved to be an excellent choice.
Our experience with Lisa Caggiano was nothing short of remarkable. Her professionalism and accommodating nature, combined with her extensive expertise, provided us with invaluable support. With approximately 140 attendees, our service was both an emotional tribute and a beautifully orchestrated event. The meticulously arranged video screens that showcased touching pictures and cherished moments from my father's life truly brought his memory to life. They even set up microphones and arranged for online streaming, allowing relatives across the USA, Canada, China, and Singapore to join us virtually, which meant the world to our family.
Furthermore, Vander Plaat didn’t stop at the funeral service; they were with us every step of the way during the internment at the Garden of Memories Mausoleum, about 10 miles away. They skillfully coordinated a police escort and managed road clearing and blocking, ensuring that our large procession of around 40 cars could travel together, arriving in unison at the mausoleum. Their thoughtful recommendations for a florist and the arrangement of donation links for our family’s churches added personal touches that we deeply appreciated.
Ultimately, Vander Plaat provided us with a stress-free experience during an immensely challenging time, allowing my entire family to focus on honoring my father’s legacy. Their dedication to their craft made this difficult journey not only manageable but also a poignant celebration of a remarkable life.
During an incredibly stressful and unexpected moment, Carl and the Vander Plaat team were able to take care of my family in a way we'll never forget. He brought ease, compassion and expertise to help my sisters and I navigate our Dad's cremation and truly brought a piece of mind that I couldn't imagine being without. Thank you, Carl and the team!
