Scanlan's: Where Life is Celebrated

I highly recommend Scanlan's. It is a beautiful, light, and peaceful funeral home. The staff went out of their way to make a very emotionally hard event as easy as possible. They thought of everything and added special and personal touches throughout the process - before, during and after. Every staff member was kind, caring, and 100% sincere. I felt their warmth and sincerity when I first walked in and after visiting other funeral homes, Scanlan's was the easiest and best decision.

The other very important factor to me is that it's woman owned and staffed. To me that means more attention to detail, sincerity and empathy.

Lastly, Amanda Gates holds a very special place in my heart. She listened and genuinely impressed me with her thoughtfulness and generosity of spirit.

Losing my mother this past April was the hardest experience of my life, but Scanlon’s Funeral Home in Pequannock, New Jersey made the entire process truly special and meaningful. From the moment we walked in, the staff was exceptionally caring, supportive, and attentive to every detail. There was never any pressure—everything was handled with respect for my needs, my pace, and my emotional comfort.

The facility is modern, welcoming, and comforting—updated beautifully while still feeling warm and personal. They even provided delicious cookies, boxed water, and thoughtful touches that truly made us feel at home during such a difficult time. One of the most memorable moments was the balloon release they helped us arrange, adding a touching and unforgettable element to the service.

I’m deeply grateful for the compassion, professionalism, and genuine care they showed to my family. Scanlon’s made an incredibly hard time a little easier, and I would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone who needs their services.

Though I've been to Scanlan's a multitude of times for various wakes and funerals, I wasn't prepared for this one to be my wives, and this early. Thankfully the staff walked us through this ordeal and made everything streamlined and flawless. It allowed us to concentrate on interacting with family and friends and not have to worry about everything else running smoothly in the background. They've always been a trusted name in the community, and now I see why.
