    Dr Ahmad himself is great
He listens and really thinks about what needs to be fine to get better. His staff however, extremely rude and the lack of communication between everyone is terrible. Getting scripts into my pharmacy is an issue all the time. Dr wanted me on a dexcom meter which I initially went to fight with but I did it and I'm grateful I did. It's been a huge help in me giving my shoulders stable. However, today when I called to reschedule an appointment and to say that I have been desperately trying to get my dexcom meter sent into my pharmacy for weeks now it's costing me Uber money all the time to have to go to the office just to pick up a meter when I can. Just have it sent to the pharmacy is ridiculous. Today I was told that my meter was sent to a different pharmacy than the one that I have been using all along and when I told them that that's not my pharmacy, they told me that it was in my history which makes no sense because just because something's in your history doesn't mean it's the current one that you've been sending scripts to. And then she proceeded to hang up on me. The staff is always super pissed off sounding. They are rude to the patients all the time. This receptionist hung up on me, and was extremely short and rude the entire conversation. All I was trying to do was to get my meter sent into the pharmacy the correct pharmacy. And this is not the first issue with scripts being sent in I have had. The doctor is wonderful. The staff however, leave something to be desired. Wait time is always ridiculous. They are rude on the phone. They do their jobs inadequately and you can tell at the doctor's often stressed out. Probably because his staff is disorganized.

I have been diabetic for over 30 years and saw the same endocrinologist for all those years. He is a good doctor but my medicine and treatment never really changed during those years I was seeing him and I never bothered to question it. I was hospitalized a few times this past year for Diabetic ketoacidosis. I have heard of this condition but never experienced the DK's as often as it was happening to me. I lost so much weight (without trying) and I weighed 98 lbs. by the last hospitalization and that's when I met Dr. Ahmad Rehan. He went through my history of diabetes while I was in Vassar Hospital and we talked about the next step to my treatment and what it was going to be. He took me off of metformin and farxiga. I have been taking these pills for the past 30 years and they just weren't helping me any longer. He kept me on my long lasting insulin and added an insulin to take before meals. Believe me the last thing I wanted to do was take more insulin. He also provided a nutritionist for me to see so I can learn how and what to eat. I'm happy to say because of Dr. Rehan I am getting much better. I weigh 120 now and I'm learning about my diabetes. Everyone in the office is pleasant and I don't mind the wait. To me this means he is talking and listening to each of us and yes this takes time. He doesn't rush you out. I'm so happy to have found my new endocrinologist. Thank you Dr. Ahmad Rehan!!

Update as of 9/2025 .... I never had an issue with Dr. Ahmad Rehan he's the dr that saved me when I went into DKA. Last October. Today was my yr check up after DKA and my numbers have never been this fantastic. He takes this time to listen to you about any questions or concerns you may have. Thank you!

This office is absolutely horrible!! Love the doctor however you can't get a call back you can't get prescriptions fixed or refilled. The ladies that answer the phone are nasty and so rude!!

Dr. Ahmad is a decent Dr.

My guess is he won't spend the money to have an excellent staff and a well run office.
I've read all the reviews and see a pattern. His office has horrible communication structure, I assume he is as cheap on office salaries as he is with his waiting room. His office lacks leadership or accountability.

I assume his office dysfunction causes stress, which may be a cause of some of the negative reviews focused on him as a Dr.

My experience was the same as every negative review related to the office functions.
Expect an indefinite wait as his appointments are never on time, we waited over 1 1/2 hrs. for my relative to see him. Most of the others waiting said the same thing, "he is never on time." I find that very disrespectful of my time.

Our other gripe is poor coordination and follow-up on prescriptions. Leaving msgs. doesn't matter. Although his staff is friendly and competent, some things need to be fixed in his organization.
