I came here with family and to be honest, it's hard to get out with kids so it was a nice treat to dine in.
First of all, I was a little confused to see bare tables, with no napkin holders, ketchup, salt shakers, nothing. I felt maybe the food would make up for it.
We ordered a supreme platter and some kabobs. The "platter" came in a cheap plastic takeaway container that was divided in four sections (which already diminishes the food portions). I was highly disappointed. A person dines in a restaurant to feel like they're getting treated special. This felt like a cheap place with barely enough food to go around. The least they could've done is put in on a large platter for presentation sake. Kabobs tasted good but once again, small portion.
All gyro platters are known to have white sauce and red sauce. They come default. They gave some white sauce but no red. When asked, they provided the universal cheap hot sauce packets that you get in fast food joints.
No complimentary water, no soda fridge in the front area, after ordering soda, I had to wait and go back and ask for it in the middle of eating. Portion sizes for everything were tiny.
We took some food to go(one of the biggest orders on the menu). The food itself looked nice, despite being less, however one small container of sauce on the side, salad was out in a round foil container that wasn't even half full.
Overall, I would not come here again. It was a very disappointing experience and I hope they will improve their services.
It may advertise Gyro as the main selling point but in reality this is a very authentic place for Pakistani place. I tried Beef Nihari and Bihari Kababs and both were top class. Serving size is much better than the close competitors. Competition will need to keep up the quality and might need to reconsider serving size because Al-Kababi sets a new standard. Staff was found to be very friendly. It’s clean but they just started so time will tell.
The Gold Standard: North America’s Best Chicken Biryani and Unbeatable Parathas!
Seriously, Alkababi has set the gold standard. Their Chicken Biryani isn't just the best I've found in New York; I'd confidently call it the best in all of North America. The depth of flavor and perfect spice balance dares to compete with authentic biryani from Karachi itself....it’s simply phenomenal.
But the biryani is just the start. Their Parathas are a true hidden gem. I haven't found a paratha like this anywhere in NYS, and maybe not even on the entire East Coast. They are perfect, and a must-try, especially when paired with their savory Kabab Fry. The quality across the board is outstanding.
Beyond the fantastic food, the service is excellent, making every visit a great experience. Crucially, for those who seek it, their commitment to quality is upheld by being Hand Slaughter / HMS Certified.
Just a word of advice: if you're planning on grabbing the Chicken Biryani on a Friday, get there early. It sells out fast! Five stars, no question.
owner comes out and explain us the vast variety they have and why, over all good learning experience and food was delicious as always special food for people who belong Karachi Pakistan
Outstanding Food and Excellent Service!
I had the pleasure of trying several dishes, including the Nihari, Beef Behari Kabab, Shawarma, and the Cheeseburger with Mayo Garlic Fries. Every item was freshly prepared and packed with flavor. The quality of the food exceeded expectations, and the prices were very reasonable.
Highly recommended to everyone looking for delicious and satisfying meals. A special mention to Mr. Amir, the owner – a truly wonderful and hospitable person who adds to the overall great experience!
