Large, interesting industrial bar with a stage and concrete floors. I visited with friends for their Salsa event... which ended up being "reggaeton and dembow" themed. Not a happy camper. There's a $15 cover but no drink/food minimums. It's mostly standing room only, but there were some tables towards the back at the bar.
The Salsa band was great! They performed around 11 pm and played for about 30 mins. They also closed the event with a spoken word piece woven with references to the black arts movement, poets/writers, critical think pieces, social justice and political issues, and community unity. Well done! I loved it.
There was some dancing, but not many dancers. It was mostly people hanging out with friends, enjoying the vibes. There are 2 - 3 all-gender bathrooms with a communal sink outside the "stalls", aka small lavatory rooms. (The 3rd stall was out of order that night.)
Not the best craft beer experience in NY. In our trip it was worst taproom. Not the place itself, its cool and realy big. But the beers were just meh, nothing special really.
Loved this place. Was in Queeens on unrelated business and afterwards googled breweries near me, and it was really close by. Once we got there I was amazed at how cool this place was, all the little details here, and there they let you sample before you buy and they all taste great to be honest. I always like buying merch at breweries and bought their last camo trucker hat. Fire!! They also have pinball and a few arcade cabinets only things it was a 90° summer day and they only have fans inside... but I can picture this place lit on a cool summer night.
I absolutely love this wide open taproom! There are
*19 different Alewife drafts (incl flights),
*usually 1 hard cider + 1 hard seltzer
*usually 3 or 4 draft cocktails
*usually 2 or 3 wine options,
*a full cocktail + spirits menu
*great selection of 4 packs + bottles to-go,
*Monday-Thursday happy hour specials
*3 jumbo projection screens for live TV/sports/movies/NintendoSwitch,
*a bunch of arcade games (pinball, Ms.Pacman, Ninja Turtles, Capcom vs Marvel, basketball, BuckHunter),
*a mug club with fun perks/swag/discounts
*Monday open mic + all night happy hour
*Tuesday night NYC Trivia League,
*Wednesday night Teacher Appreciation & bottle share,
*Thursday night Bingo with cash prize
*some of NYC's best food vendors (Fri-Sun year-round plus a few added nights during summers).
There's a high ceiling inside with giant fans as well as a ton of outdoor seating! It's kid friendly during the afternoon/early evening and dog friendly 24/7 (they even have Alewife branded dog biscuits made with pumpkin, PB, and spent beer grains)! Some of the friendliest and most diverse staff you'll find in NYC!

Great brewery with a huge indoor space with plenty of bench seating and tables, a few arcade games (Ms. Pac-Man/Galaga, Whack-a-Mole, Buckhunter), cornhole, and I’m told a few pinball machines will hopefully be making there way back (the original ones that were there had been removed by the machines’ owner at the time of this review), and a projector screen playing a baseball game (video only, no audio - music was playing on the overhead speakers instead). There’s also plenty of covered outdoor seating as well and there was a Birria taco truck outside on a Sunday afternoon. A food vendor is usually posted up outside this place which is great since the brewery itself doesn’t serve food. All of the beers were excellent and they have a pretty big variety on tap, with cans also available to purchase to-go.
