Grew up going to school and church here. This place will always have a place in my heart. Used to love the "Hurry Murray" masses (bc he wanted to watch the ball game ๐Ÿ˜†) Fr Murray is missed but remembered with love.

I grew up at American Martyrs and recall great memories of altar serving, helping Deacon Stan and working at the parish. It is greatly disheartening, though, to see how some people at the parish have such a hatred toward tradition. I pretty much left the parish because of such. To be a young person and be refused communion on the tongue, or be maligned because I enjoy things like Latin, or Mass facing East is extremely upsetting. I pray and hope for such things to be addressed and resolved, so that American Martyrs will feel more welcoming to younger folks who really want to be involved with the Church, but not have to compromise on things like Eucharistic reverence that they find so important in times that are calling for Eucharistic revival!

This noble-simplistic, coliseum style church has several bragging rights. It was wonderfully restored recently, and is fully ADA accessible. Theres a vast parking lot, conveniently located by two major streets. The inside is warm and welcoming, featuring comfortable pews, a blessed sacrament chapel, two side altars for votive candles, and a nice main altar, with paintings of the American martyrs, a lovely crucifix and Our Lady in the back drop. The current pastor has done an extraordinary job in restoring and repairing the church, both physically and spiritually. The parish deacon is also resourceful and friendly, and well known throughout the diocese. The church edifice is only used on Sunday masses and solemnities, such as Holy Week and Christmas. The church also has a lovely little chapel that is used for daily mass throughout the week. The music used for liturgy has improved vastly in recent times (before it was the awfully overused songs written in the 70s-90s that plagued the church) and has turned to more lovely traditional English hymns and ordinaries. I hope for the continued growth of this incredible parish and the best regards to all the staff.

A gorgeous 1960s style church in the round. The church is great, the parishoners are great, the pastoral staff is great, priests, everyone. You have to come celebrate mass at American Martyrs...being in a round church is so fantastic, you can see the altar from just about any angle, in a way that a normal church couldn't be compared to. Some of the best priests I've met say mass there, and the parishoners are so kind, accepting and generous. They really care about the community there, and the presence of God is there always. Not to mention that the church is handicapped accessible and easy to get to either by walking, driving, riding your bike or taking the bus. There are a variety of activities, organizations and events like the Rosary Society, Knights of Columbus, holiday parties and weekly Bingo. A great church to visit, an even greater parish to call your own.
