Wonderful play area for the kiddies. Has regular playground for all ages as well as swings. Also has waterplay area, sprinklers, water canons and "pool" (huge hole in the sand filled to about mid-shin high) Benches all around for adults to relax.
Been here 3 days in a row and all six of my kids loved it had a lot of fun. Definitely use sun screen for the kids and adults. Adults come dress to get in the water like I did.
I wish they had more splash water areas like this throughout all the boroughs because there aren’t many. Didn’t see any rowdy mess as it was 95% families. Something to note: I came today 7/11/25 and I arrived at 1230 but the sprinklers weren’t initially on. They turned on when I got out of the bathroom a few minutes later. Close distance to the beach so you can definitely be here all day. Bathrooms are close and clean.
Sometimes some people here curse loudly, illegally smoke and bring pets to playground area. Very nice playground and sprinkler area. Sprinklers automatically go on when temperature is above 80 degrees. This park is adjacent to the boardwalk and free beach.
If you have small kids, don’t even think of going to other beaches at Far Rockaway but here. I’ve been taking my kids here every summer since 2018 and I’ve always found a parking spot for free right next to the playground. We ONLY go on weekday mornings though. A nice kids playground with fun sprinklers, a sand area for sensory experience although I bet the slides are too hot to use during the summer. My kid doesn’t even bother to play on the slide since she goes straight for the sprinklers. The parking spot is right next to the playground and the restrooms, and a very short walk to the boardwalk. Make sure to bring snacks and drinks with you since there are no nearby stores along the Boardwalk. Not a lot of shady people around here from my experience, mostly families.
