The owner is very nice and the only person who runs this wonderful homemade Ice Cream place. She makes all the wonderful cakes and Ice Cream here. I love it and my granddaughter always goes here when she visits. She loves all the ice cream and the homemade fudge sauce that is made. I love the ice cream and the coffee here. Thank you so much for being here and everyone should try this place. The ice cream is delicious!
Good ice cream with exceedingly high price tag. Dish shown is their Sunday which cost $19
The best ice cream shop I’ve ever been too! No colors, all fresh and homemade- even the cone is homemade!
This is a wonderful place run by an exceedingly kind woman who makes delicious ice cream from scratch, and has a wonderful array of seasonal flavors. The flavors are subtler than what you'll find in mass-produced ice cream. If you're comparing Bluebird to supermarket ice cream or other places that claim to be homemade, then yes, you'll have significant sticker shock. But that's not an apt comparison.
Visited Bluebird for dessert after lunch at the Muscoot Tavern and a walk through the gardens of the John Jay house... All three were wonderful and would definitely recommend! The owner is very interesting to talk with. Ice cream and homemade cakes and desserts were so, so good. She even offers vegan options! Notes: Picnic tables available outside. Inside is currently closed. She'll take your order at the door. it was cash only on the day we went (not sure if that's always the policy.) Don't go if you're in a hurry. Part of the charm of visiting this establishment is the time taken with each customer. Everything was fabulous -- well worth the visit!
