I cannot recommend Butler-Hughes Funeral Home highly enough. Our family has used their services twice—first in October 2023 when my father, a retired NYC Detective Lieutenant, passed away, and most recently on October 27, 2025, after losing my mother. From the very beginning, owner Bill Butler went above and beyond. He personally handled every detail with care and precision. For my father, Bill coordinated seamlessly with a funeral home in Mount Laurel, NJ, transported him to Kings Park, and managed all aspects of the burial at Calverton National Cemetery—including the headstone and required paperwork. He even assisted the family with planning the funeral Mass at St Josephs Catholic Church in Kings Park and kept us informed every step of the way. This gave our family true peace of mind during an incredibly difficult time. When my mother recently passed, Bill once again delivered exceptional care. Both my parents had morning open-casket viewings at Butler-Hughes before the Funeral Mass at St. Joseph’s—and they looked absolutely beautiful. The person responsible for their preparation is truly gifted. The pricing for both services was fair and transparent, and the level of service was nothing short of outstanding. Bill and his top-notch staff made a painful process as simple and stress-free as possible. They truly care, and it shows in everything they do. If I could give 6 stars, I would.
