I just wanted to specifically thank Karen Gifford for helping our family plan my fathers wake & all the necessary details that go with it. She let us take our time & answered every question we had. She was supportive & compassionate. We also wanted to really thank Gene for guiding us through dressing our dad with dignity & respect and even needed humor. It was such a touching , loving way to help our fathers final journey. For such an emotional , heartbreaking time they truly helped is feel closer to our dad. For my Mom they were compassionate, kind and understanding in her grief. Id highly recommend Moloneys Bohemia and ask for Karen Gifford!
It is hard to know where to begin. This was the first time I ever had to plan a funeral and the genuine kindness shown to myself and two children was extraordinary. Nicholas Wheeler, Funeral Director and the entire staff were outstanding and very comforting and kind. They were 5 stars plus. From the beginning and still going on.
The room they used was so warm and welcoming - even had coffee and cookies for our guests. The way they arranged all the beautiful flowers, picture boards, two videos, one on each side of the room, all the memorabilia from Noel's love of aviation. I don’t want to leave out the wonderful job they did making my husband look so handsome and peaceful. From beginning to the end, it couldn’t have been more perfect. The Wake in the evening with the Prayer Service and Testimonies could not of gone better as well as my son’s Eulogy and a beautiful Mass at St. John Nepomunce, Bohemia.
Thirty cars proceeded out to Calverton Cemetery with a stop first at our home and then at Brookhaven Airport a wreath was placed on the propeller of Noel and Tony’s aircraft. At the cemetery, he was treated royally.
Yes there was sadness, but the joy was sprinkled throughout because we were truly celebrating the life of a good man that were loved by many.
So when you find yourself in this situation as we all do some day, I highly recommend the Moloney Family Funeral Home. Nickolas Wheeler is intelligent, knows what he is doing, a good listener and ALL HEART.
Our dad was just buried on Monday, but we feel so strongly about the quality of care we received from the Moloney family funeral home that we asked them if we could write a review. The process of loss in whatever form, is a brutal one. And the level of fear about who will take care of your loved one and handle the service is so intense it can be paralyzing. I need you to know that if you find yourself in the situation we were in where our dad passed at home there is only one family that has your back, and that is the Moloney’s. Conner that sweet boy came to our home to bring our dad into their care. The kindness, respect and dignity he showed Dad and all of us made us feel like he was handling the care of his own Grandpa. He’s a top notch soul. From every person we encountered at the home; Scott Kramer our funeral Director also handled us with such warmth and love and ensured every last touch was in place. We trusted him implicitly. Our priest even commented during the funeral mass about what an exception it was to have the Funeral Director stay for the mass, but he did. He took his responsibility of taking care of us very seriously and even offered me his coat at the cemetery. Every lady in the funeral home and Jeff that attended to us was caring and kind and without judgement. I joked that it felt as if we paid extra with the quality of care we received. It was so above and beyond that people were commenting on how beautiful it was and that it was their “favorite funeral service”. Which sounds odd but what it means to us is that they understood how important it was to have a beautiful celebratory service to return our Dad to our Mom, and to God. And Moloney’s took that responsibility as seriously as though it were their own father. We have had a lot of loss in our family, but we always did the services in Queens. This is the first time we did it on Long Island. We were so scared walking in that day, afraid of how he’d look because experience told us it was going to be bad. We actually cried with happiness and relief because they captured him so beautifully. They listened to every word. Looked at every picture and he looked like him. Which was of intense comfort to us. I can’t thank them enough and I can’t recommend them highly enough. I hope we don’t need to do this again, but I know if we do. There are no better hands (actually arms) to be in than that of the Moloney’s. One of the owners, Dan Moloney, even called the day after the funeral to check in on us, and he reminded me that if we need anything they are there for us. Like Dad would say, I mean come on.
My family and I would sincerely like to thank the entire Holbrook and Bohemia Moloneys’ staff, especially Joann Byron, our funeral director, for their most heartfelt and professional assistance in a very sad and dark time in our lives. Our family had suffered not one but two tragic losses within 7 weeks of each other. It was so devastating and extremely hard to grasp but with the help of Joann and her staff by our side we were able to forge ahead and honor them in a very loving and respectful manner. The families of Angelo Fraccalvieri and Alice Lucas will never forget the empathy and kindness extended to us by the Moloney Funeral home and family.
The Moloney Family Funeral Homes team was professional, patient and truly kind during our family’s sorrow. They enabled all our family including those across the sea in Italy to participate in our final moments with our beloved mother.
A special thanks to Joann for accommodating ever request without hesitation.
