I love Café Renaissance! Their oven pizza was so good I ate it before I could even take a picture. The sushi is always on point too. It’s usually busy, so the service can be a little limited, but that’s only because everyone wants to eat there and honestly it’s worth the wait. They’ve been doing this for over 30 years and it really shows.
Hands down it’s better than any kosher Italian restaurant I’ve tried in Rome. Here they give you warm soft bread right out of the oven while in Italy it’s cold and comes in a bag. The flavor, texture, and overall quality here are just on another level. And the wait time is actually shorter on average.
Definitely recommend this place. Amazing food, great vibe, and consistently excellent.
Wow I have so much to say about this place!
1. The food is exceptional. Taste, temperature, presentation, quality ingredients, portion size. I enjoyed every bite and even got to take home leftovers!
2. The customer service. The waiters were just perfect. Smiles, attentiveness, quick.
3. We were also greeted by the owners who were present the whole time. The place was packed and they were available if necessary.
For me the prices here are a bit high but for the quality and excellence overall they are very reasonable! I wish I could afford to come back every week!
The service was not horrible. We were seated quickly and got our menus quickly, but when it comes to paying, it was chaotic. The atmosphere was loud and messy making it hard to converse with my friends. The food on the other hand, was horrible. It was not presented in a way which gave me high expectations making it worth the exorbitantly high prices. The taste was that of which my little sister would make. I can make it better in my own kitchen.
Large kosher dairy restaurant. There is plenty of seating though it can fill up so you may want to call ahead to RSVP. We were seated real quickly when we came and given tablets with the menus. The tablets had nice clear pictures of each menu item. After ordering the food came pretty quickly. The wait staff was quick and courteous. Everything we ordered tasted amazing. Would definitely come back when we're in the area again in the future.
We arrived at Cafe Renaissance with a very large hungry party. It was very modern that the restaurant offered menu on tablets, however with a table of 9, more than 4 menus are needed. Fights nearly broke out as the hungry crowd fought after the menu tablets.
Service was mediocre, at best- we were consistently waiting on our waiter or trying to flag one down.We didn't have one occurance where a waiter came on their own volition (admittedly it was very busy night, but there excuse for a large party to not receive any service without prompting). We were fine with pouring water on your own, but it's not someting we're accustomed to doing in a nicerrestaurant.
However, the food made up for all aforementioned faults.
Mozarella basket is a must-get appetizer. I will stop there, just order it and you'll agree. 10/10
The Margherita pizza was truly delicious- tasty with a perfect amount of crunch to the dough 9/10. The baby spinach salad, which my wife has ordered at countless restaurants, was the best she has ever had it. Rich with toppings and full or flavor. 9/10.
Cappaleni Primavera pasta .was light but tasty, some more flavor wouldn't hurt it though. 7/10.
Our table got nearly all of the fishe entrées, and all were top notch. I'd recommend every single one of them. 9/10.
Overall, this restaurant is a staple in the neighborhood for a reason - consistent quality that overshadows the passable service.
8/10 overall.
