Chappa Cuts Kids Hair Salon

If I had written this review a few years ago, I probably would have given 4 or 5 stars. Back then, I had only one son, who enjoyed coming here, sitting in the cab or plane chair, and watching his favorite cartoon. Each appointment lasted 20 minutes, and I even recommended this salon to a couple of people.

When my second son needed a haircut earlier than my first (before he was even one), the experience was completely different. He was too young to understand what was happening and was scared. I brought him back a couple more times, but every time, he would start crying as soon as we reached the door. The last time we went, when he was a little over two years old, the appointments had been shortened to 15 minutes. The stylist rushed through the cut, and since he was crying and not sitting still, she kept making little noises of impatience and annoyance. She didn’t try to reassure him or even take a moment to show him the water spray bottle before using it—understandably making things worse for him.

I completely understand that she had a job to do, but those little noises of frustration convinced me never to return. You can do your job efficiently while still showing some empathy, or at the very least, making eye contact with the child. Now, we go somewhere else where I pay less, and the stylist takes the time to explain what’s going to happen. Even though my son was initially hesitant, he never cried there and is now happy to go.

I wish our experience at Chappa Cuts had been different, but unfortunately, I can’t recommend it anymore.

We had a great experience for my toddlers first haircut. The owner was ready for her right on time and she made things so fast and easy. She even gave my toddler a braid and sparkles after the cut, which she absolutely loved. Thanks for making her first haircut so smooth!

I recently took my son to Chappa Cuts and I couldn't be happier with the experience! Laura was incredibly caring and attentive, making my son feel comfortable throughout the entire process. Not only that, but she was also incredibly fast, which made the whole haircut experience stress-free for both me and my son. I highly recommend this salon to any parent looking for a caring and efficient hairstylist for their little one.
