Beautiful park, loved the hatchery and the food for feeding the trout! Many paths to walk, and nearly all are usable without issue since this is a hiking-only park (excluding some horse trails). Parking was $8 which is reasonable. I saw more wildlife during the 3 mile hike than expected. Highly recommended!
Visited this park on my own, looking for some quiet time away from the city. The moment you walk in, it feels like you’ve stepped into another world — tall trees, open meadows, and the sound of water that makes you forget about traffic and phones. I wandered along the trails without rushing anywhere, just breathing and listening.
There were moments when the sunlight came through the branches in such a way that it looked like a scene from an old painting. I actually caught myself thinking: “If only I had the skill, I’d set up an easel right here and paint for hours.” Sitting on a bench near the water, I realized I hadn’t felt that calm in a long time.
This isn’t a park to rush through; it’s a place to slow down, reflect, and let your thoughts breathe. If you want noise, crowds, or attractions, this isn’t it. But if you want to clear your head and just exist for a while in nature — this place is perfect.
There are a plethora of landscapes ranging from wetlands, small ponds, and museum, but there is also a long barren path. For walking, the lands are very flat, but filled with lots of sand and occasional horse manure. There isn't much to look out, which isn't surprising that it was basically devoid of people on the blue trail
Visited many times on hikes but came to checkout their kayak rental on main pond and it was so worth it! Such a cool vantage point being in the water. Lots of wildlife seen from the kayak and made for some pretty pictures.
