Beautiful place for a picnic or to walk around the Reservoir. Very clean, lots of port-a-potties, a playground for children, dog friendly (on leash). The Reservoir structure is quite impressive, building started in 1892 and was completed in 1906 and stands almost 300 feet tall.
This is an amazing place. A place of energy and relaxation. The views are breathtaking. There is parking and a children's playground. There are picnic tables, but no grills. Good trails. You can ride bicycles. I definitely recommend visiting.
The visit to Gorge Dam was such a peaceful and scenic escape. The weather was perfect, and the views around the dam were absolutely stunning — perfect for taking photos or simply soaking in the beauty of nature.
It’s a wonderful place to relax, enjoy the outdoors, and spend quality time with friends or family. We saw a few people having picnics and barbecues, which is a great way to enjoy the area. The whole place has a calm, laid-back vibe that makes you want to stay for hours.
If you’re looking for a serene spot to unwind, take in beautiful scenery, and reconnect with nature, Gorge Dam is definitely worth a visit.
A park under the dam of reservoir with natural and man-made water falls and fountain. The wall of the dam looks gorgeous. A trail can lead you to the top of the dam. Parking is $10. I saw people having BBQ in the park. Just be aware of traffic sign. The entrance doesn't allow left turn from the south bound. And cops are waiting there to give you a ticket.
It is a great place for a day trip. We went on Labor Day. There are at least two trekking options (all easy and short). One would take you to the top of the Damn. The view is great and this is the main attraction. The facilities are really good ($10 per car) and there is plenty space for some picnic
