I’ve been a patient of Dr. Juneja for 19 years. His approach saved my life—but only because I did the work. I had to take accountability for my issues—mental health struggles, behavioral patterns, legal trouble, inconsistency—and choose to rebuild my life from the ground up. Dr. J helped guide me, but it was up to me to take the steps.
When I first came to him, I was broken. Today, I’m stable, present, and sober—even after the loss of my mother and others in my support system. These were challenges I never thought I could survive, and I did. It wasn’t easy, and it wasn’t cheap—but there’s no price tag I can put on getting to see my children grow up or having a life I can manage.
You wouldn’t tell someone with a heart condition to stop their medication. Mental health is no different. I’m saddened to see criticism from the mother of an addict, especially when it’s clear that even the best psychiatrist can only do so much without the patient’s willingness to heal.
Dr. Juneja is a caring, compassionate, real doctor. He’s a tool—but only if you’re willing to pick it up and use it. He offered me a way back to life. I took it. And I’m still here.
Dr j is amazing and helped me through so much. Thank you
