I purchased a pair of loupes and a light through Marty O’Rourke. The fitting process took a bit of time, but Marty remained responsive and continued working with me until everything was properly adjusted. In the end, the loupes and light fit well and have been working as expected. I appreciate his follow-through and commitment to making sure the final product was right.
I actually like my loupes, but I wish I was with another company due to poor customer service. Please be aware that if you ever need to send your loupes in for repairs, even minor repairs, it will take a month or longer to get them back. I have sent my loupes in almost annually for several years now. Even with paying $300 plus for overnighting it both ways, it takes a month to get them back. Every year when I send them in, I will call around 2 weeks concerned with how long it is taking. Every time I do so DFV gives an excuse as to why it is taking so long: "Due to Covid"... "We are short staffed"... "it looks like it took several days to get processed".... "We had a power outage".... "We are backed up"... I would be more understanding if these delays where the exceptions, but regrettably, it is the standard. This is a company that seems to have no desire in bettering their turn around times, or customer service. Please consider getting your loupes from someone else.
I’ve known Marty since I was a dental hygiene student. Since then, I’ve been using dental loupes. I haven’t had any problems with my loupes and it actually gives me better vision while I’m working. I would not dream of dealing with another company or rep. Why change when you are already working with the best? That would be like trading in a Rolls for a unicycle simply because it has fewer parts to maintain.
