The staff makes this restaurant special. Great food, they cater to your spice level. Fresh and quality ingredients. Lots of room to host a group & beautiful seating. They do lots of takeouts.
You know a restaurant is good when every bite sends you back to a specific memory that you lived in that country. Our meal at the Dosa Grill had us effortlessly recalling travels for more than 10 years ago with every sip and bite.
The service was kind and attentive, from asking us if we wanted our chapatis soft or crispy to checking if we wanted ice in our water. The fish tikka masala was perfectly balanced with the most tender fish, capturing all of the spices of the sauce whose savory notes were punctuated by the sweetness of the onion. The dosa, for which we got an appetizer size, was the largest one that I’ve ever seen, and came with amazing accompanying coconut and tomato dipping sauces and a fantastic onion lentil soup.
In addition to many classic dishes that you see most Indian restaurants, we loved how we could get delicious street food like pani puri, where we poured tangy spiced water into puffed shells, already filled with chutney and chickpeas.
The “non-Indian” regular spice level held us in its spiciness, allowing us to savor every bite without any need for Kleenex to wipe runny eyes or noses. It left a pleasant hum in our mouths to remind us of what we’d eaten.
The tomato soup had deep rich tomato notes, and the chai tea was a spot of comfort. Lastly, the gulab jamun and jalebi, made from fermented flour and yogurt, were wonderful sweet notes to end the meal. We feel so lucky have such a delicious, fairly priced place open up in the Hudson Valley!
Everything was amazing! The food was delicious! The staff and the service was the best I have had in ages! Sandy was our waiter and he was on top of everything and so charming! Will return! ☺️
Wow! So happy to have found a new staple Indian restaurant in the Hudson Valley. Food was spiced to absolute perfection based on our order preferences. Chicken 69 was fried perfectly. The chicken was juicy and the Lamb Biryani is some of the best I have ever had! Service and food both 10/10 - There is even a bakery In the front to grab some authentic Indian desserts. We will be back very soon to try the lunch buffet!!
My friend owns an Indian restaurant so I’m pretty spoiled & hard to please. This place met all my expectations. The service was genuinely good, they made me feel like a regular, it wasn’t fake guest service. Sandy was especially funny and interested in what I thought of the food. The food was spot on. Spice level as requested, deep flavor, & they have the Indian beers you can’t find elsewhere! A must try whether you’re an experienced Indian cuisine eater or new to try!
