Forest BBQ

I have visited this restaurant quite a few times. I have never dined in. It is a small dining room but very comfortable and cozy. The food here is great and the service is outstanding.
Great Portuguese BBQ without crossing the bridge to go to Elizabeth NJ.

Ive been here quite a few times and i always order the salmon and its good but today, I ordered the garlic chicken and was very disappointed not only with the chicken but with the service as well. As you can see the photo, the chicken is a soupy, foamy, mess- boiled and rubbery. When i called to ask them to exchange it for their bbq chicken , they said they couldn't do that and I paid 45$ for 2 entrees and one of them went in the garbage.

I placed an order for delivery. I ordered chicken tenders and what I received were chicken nuggets. I used to love Forest BBQ but the last couple of times that I had it, the chicken was either VERY salty or had a ridiculous amount of garlic to the point that it burnsl. This specific time it was so salty that I could not even eat it. The fries were soggy & greasy and the plantains were so mushy that it was gross. I continued to give them a chance since it used to be so good. But now I'm done! I won't be ordering from them again.

What a beautiful and cozy place to eat! The people that work there are great, the food is delicious and it's very clean. It's a family-friendly place.

Doesnt look like much inside or out but don't be fooled. Food is excellent and plentiful. Three of us had ribs...smokey, meaty and cooked through but not dry. I had a mountain of crispy sweet tater fries, hubbs had rice ad beans he loved and the third wzs with salad...crisp and fresh. Fourth person had shrimp...and boy was I jealous...they were great! Lunch tomorrow is already looked forward to!
