A nice, quiet place for a weekend stroll. Suitable for those who enjoy peace and quiet and relaxing walks. The staff at the entrance and gate to the fort are very friendly. There's no parking, but you can leave your car anywhere unless there are signs prohibiting it.
Walking through Fort Totten Park was such a pleasant experience for me. I enjoy visiting different places around New York, and this park truly felt like a discovery. It’s calm, open, and perfect for just walking back and forth alone, thinking or simply enjoying the fresh air. There’s something special about finding a quiet corner like this in such a big city. I really appreciate that New York has places like Fort Totten Park where you can slow down, recharge, and enjoy a peaceful atmosphere.
Fort Totten Park is absolutely beautiful — a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Whether you're looking to take a peaceful walk by the water, explore historic landmarks, or just relax in nature, this park has something for everyone. The views of the Long Island Sound are stunning, especially at sunset. The greenery is well-maintained, and the atmosphere is calm and welcoming. There’s also a great mix of open space, shaded areas, and walking paths. Highly recommend for a quiet afternoon stroll or a scenic spot to unwind. One of Queens' best-kept secrets!
This place is very beautiful and quiet we took a walk in between the buildings on the weekend and it was completely quiet and deserted, we saw a few soldiers walking around like us and a few families riding bicycles.
It's very maintained and most of the buildings are occupied by FDNY and other Park offices
