I proposed at this park because of how beautiful it is at sunset. The park has a spacious open grass area that has a direct view of NYC across the water. It also has a dock if you would like to walk out into the water a bit to take a closer look at the view.

There is also a small garden that looks a lot nicer in the summertime. I chose to propose inside that garden because you can see the fountain, all of the flowers in the garden, and the beach view in the background.

It is a popular spot to take pictures of couples and to propose. They also host many events at the park as well.

All that being said, there are also a lot of hoops to jump through in order to get permission to use the park. For example, for my proposal, I needed to submit my application to gather 10 people in the park. It required a two week wait and a fee payment. However, the staff was nice enough to help me speed this process up. Without the permit, we were not allowed to gather in the park or take any pictures.

In summary, it's an amazing park with an amazing view, but make sure to talk to the staff asap if you want to do something there.

They also require you to have a park pass to enter the park, but being a local resident, I had no issues with renewing my park pass. It took me around 30 minutes.

Scenic LIS view and very well maintained. Has picnic and barbecue area, great for a small family gathering. Spray park and playground are also available for young children.
It’s a private park only open for residents. Needs valid park car.
    Ample parking space.

Resident only park, they check for passes at the entrance during during mid spring and later, no passes for parking. I've only gone here outside beach season where no one is at the gate. There is a small parking lot with a short walk to picnic area and water front. There is a pier with beautiful view of the skies and waters. There's a lot of garbage that washes ashore and is often left on the side for pickup. Good amount of sea glass too. Overall a small and quiet beach in the cold months but my favorite by far for its intimacy. Great Neck Parks host events here and there is a party room. The property is kept clean and presentable with exception of the garbage that comes from the sea. Highly recommend this place for a nice walk.

Definitely went on the wrong day as the weather was extremely cold. But even so the park was very nice and had lots of opportunities for photos. You get pretty up close with some of the wildlife and the view of the Long Island Sound is just stunning. While I went on a bad day the experience was still great for me so if you go on a sunny day I can imagine it being even better. If you are in the area I definitely recommend going for a walk here and just taking in the fresh air and enjoy the view. I’ve included some of the photos I was able to take while at the park.
