STEPPINGSTONE PARK is fantastic: on the water- great sunsets. And the fall display is equal to NYBG in my opinion.
Great facilities but you need to deal with a lot of entitled people. Life guards are staff are constantly having to correct people failure to follow simple rules. People often reserve multiple lounge chairs making it impossible to find a spot if you get there later in the day. Entire sections will be "reserved" by placing a towel, keys or even a piece of fruit on the chairs so to keep others aways or to have a shade spot and a sun spot.
Otherwise the staff is wonderful and property is clean and well maintained
The absolute best Park System consisting of 21 Active and Passive Parks. We had an outdoor ice skating rink this past winter, besides our indoor Rink on Wood Rd Great Neck. There is nothing like our Park District anywhere in the U.S.A.
Love the parks in Great Neck, but I agree with a number of the other reviewers - Parkwood pool staff are unnecessarily strict
If you live in Great Neck, this is a great future of living in this community. Huge parks all over the place, water side park that has fishing, boating and concerts during the summer, ice skating rink and pool.
