Its pretty, a small trail, if u want a small outing, in n out, come here. you cant get lost, pretty birds, they are quiet, n hide so be still if u want to see them
Small, quiet, natural area. Had a heron fly a few feet above my head!
Came here for a field trip back in kindergarten. Although it was so many years ago, the incredible scenery and sense of connection with nature is what made it stick with me all these years. This is one of the only places near me where I truly feel like I am one with nature. Since that first trip,
i have been coming back here again and again to get away from people and places and just enjoy the world we live in. Absolutely breathtaking place to connect with nature, 10/10 recommend.
I never knew it existed until I was looking at nature preserves and hiking on long island. I take the train from little neck almost weekly. I decided to get to the train early today. I did the two closest trails to the station they were short but it was nice. I wouldn't drive next to the preserve park on the street either right past or before the station on little neck parkway. The road to the trail just north of the station is dangerous and shouldn't be two way. Very narrow and curvy. I can see this being a good day trip from the city city ticket is cheap.
Was here for Seatuck org's river herring and eel run monitoring project. I did not see fish or eels but was impressed by what I saw. Yes it could use a good trim. Lots of invasive vines and multiflora rose. Super Stewards! Its likely trash free precisely because there is NO parking. Get that. NO parking. You walk or bike here. End of story.
