Took our Dog for a walk here..it was beautiful, peaceful, and quiet(other than nature sounds) only saw a few other folks while we wandered along the trail..the views of the Mid Hudson Bridge were Spectacular on this gorgeous day..took the short cut on the white trail since it was heating up and didn't want to strain our dog..so we really enjoyed the yellow trail checked out the ruins..wow the history these buildings and grounds have witnessed through the years is just so crazy to even think about.. although we opted to not take the walk down to the river since we would have to walk all the way back up and didn't want to strain the dog or ourselves lol..it's a steep one to come back up..if u choose to go down...anyway the blue trail was fantastic as we got to see the gorgeous view of the Mid Hudson Bridge on a spectacular day..parking was easy enough since there were only 2 others here when we arrived..maybe 6 or so by the time we finished..Saw a Huge Buck and a few Does headed up toward the right of way Power lines.. overall just a Wonderful walk in nature ..the bugs were getting more annoying as the day heated up..Will be back in the fall when things cool off so we can finish the rest of the white tail..

Very pretty park on the west side of the Hudson River from Poughkeepsie and easily accessible on foot from the Mid-Hudson Bridge. Very easy hiking trails and beautiful views of the river

I took a small detour from my main trail, which was the Mid-Hudson bridge and the walkway over the Hudson, to Franny Reese SP but I must say that I could enjoy the hike too much due to the insect which were flying around me at all time. So I had to walk fast and could stop for too long. I highly recommend to use repellent if you're taking this route

Well marked and maintained hiking trails. Easy level, good for a beginner hiker. There are a couple of steep areas, but they don’t last long. Limited parking, no bathroom facilities. We came during a weekday, and pretty much had the place to ourselves. We took the yellow trail to the blue with a scenic overlook of the Mid-Hudson bridge. From there, we took a left on the white trail and hiked the whole thing. Cool stone ruins and rock walls along the paths. Unfortunately, the “scenic overlooks” labeled on the white trail map were non-existent, probably because the trees are all grown in. I’m sure theres a nice view of the river in fall/winter.

Beautiful trail! I am from Texas, currently staying in Poughkeepsie for work. I had a few days off and decided to venture out and enjoy Mother Nature. Coming from Texas, the views are amazing here, and this trail was very well maintained. Tons and tons of great pictures were taken, editing effects are amazing. Any recommendations on other trails??
