We have used the Highland Public Library since it was in its old location, and not only is it a wonderful place to take kids, they have a teen room, they haven't conference rooms you can use for tutoring or meetings, as well as they have started a food pantry in their lobby. Further proof that libraries are needed more now than ever! Everyone that works there is accommodating, kind and amazing. I know without the support of the library, my son wouldn't be nearly as successful as he is, entering 11th grade this fall. Thank you to all who give us your time and support!
My son and myself have a great time every time we go. The librarians are top notch, and friendly to my son, and always around to help with answering a question.
Great local handicapped accessible modern library with a large selection of video, books, computers, a childrens reading area & some good old fashion news print.
What makes this place more pleasurable to visit is there friendly helpful staff & service where they come to your home to pick up the items that are ready to be returned.
The only issue we encountered were the heavy rest room doors that are difficult to open if you have a mobility issue.
Appreciate the kid-friendly nature of the place but hello? Libraries are also places to study. The place is as loud as a grade school recess and the bellowing people manning the phones at the front desk contribute to the ruckus. Beautiful building but forget quiet reading time
I’m not sure if it is a daycare or a after school program, but there is some sort of child care program in the “library“. This creates a noise level that is unbelievable. There’s kids running all over inside the “library”, and there is a group preteen children that sit in the lobby heckling patrons as they enter and leave. The staff seems friendly and helpful, but they don’t seem to be bothered by the noise level. I seem to remember my high school library being run better. Also, every time someone enters or leaves the “library” the door slams shut, this creates a jarring sound that echoes throughout the entire space. I’m not sure how anyone can concentrate in the “library”. Although I do not believe that concentration is a goal if this “library” seeing how there is a daycare run out of the space.
