This assisted living facility at the beginning of was just for women, which is why we choose it. The gentleman who owes it also had another place just for men. That place had a fire and the men were put up in this facility. They never went back. As much as the manager tried to keep the place running efficiently staff was hard to come by. There were a few who actually cared and took pride in their occupation (which I give a lot of credit) since then the place has gone somewhat downhill but I found other places to be in same condition. Took our mom out because she needed additional care and do not know what has become of the place. They had five stars but that changed just like the facility.
I myself live here. So to make most accurate judgements view,as possable. I know viewpoint will vary.
I will list the cons & pros.
Cons. #1. This place is not originality A liveing care facility. #2. This place, IMO badly placed,by land. Do to it isn't flat. Everyone has to go up and down A hill in the facility. It does have rails all in the facility.#3. The heating & cooling. The building for its self was not made right,IMO. Because the heating and cooling is not balanced though the whole building. One area is warm. Wile another area is cold. No individual tempatures. So residents will be ok in one area. Wile others will not. It gets worse for residents who are in constant cold area at night as AC makes it more cold. My room gets to 58F-62F with AC as being on.
Pros. #1. Staff. Now I will point out that no one is perfect. The staff do what is needed most of the time. When they can't. It is either A problem they can't fix and need someone qualifyed. As washer, dryer replacements. Staff do get angry and that is ok #2. Residents. Most residents are decent people. Some are nice. Some will help others when can. Although most know in some instances. You can't. Do to rules here. As residents have to be self reliant. #3. Activities. Place does have activities and residents can play. Bowling,Wii bowling as other Wii games. Board games. As cards, chess,Monopoly,Pictuinary and more. There is crafting to. #4. Residents can go out to activities made for going out and do transportation rides.
It was during prime covid so seeing my sister was almost non existent. She was not taking her meds we found them in her pockets after she passed. She would have to annoy the nurse to get her a new oxygen tank after she ran out. I was there dropping things off and I heard and seen a nurse yelling at an individual. She had diet restrictions but that didn't matter to them. Then when she had a heart attack no one had checked on her for hours as they were quarantined to their rooms. So she lost oxygen to her brain and didn't survive.on top of that we were suppose to exchange gifts that Friday. Her daughter was only 16. She told her she had money for her. Supposedly no one found money on her or in her room. How convenient.
