Sadly me and my sister took care of our mom at home also under the care of hospice. They were very understanding and compassionate. As sometimes in these situations people can get very mean because they don't like feeling helpless but they had experience with all types of situations. They spoke with me and my sister and if we ever needed or wanted to talk to them all we had to do was say so. I never want to be in that situation again and I have to say they made it easier for us because we were extremely emotional and sometimes made it very difficult to get things done. Thank you all very much for the loving care you gave our mom. Thank you also for helping understand what was going on and how to cope and react to certain things. You truly are a god send.
Hudson Valley Hospice is a wonderful organization that has a staff who understands the process required to help the patient and the family as well. Nurse Angie is a true professional with outstanding compassion and caring skills, Kate (Social Worker) was incredibly sensitive and present, Chaplain Julie provided comfort with a spiritual connection, Nurse Barb truly added a skill set/dimension needed at a critical phase; I would not hesitate to recommend this organization to care for a loved one in need; angels they all are. The care and concern for my father was very professional and kind. Every time I need them to come over, they were immediately there helping dad. To all the drivers delivering the meds/supplies to the nurses and Drs. My family says Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Before we entered hospice for my Mom, our hospital experience was exhausting, frustrating, and somewhat disappointing. Hudson Valley Hospice was the complete opposite. Every member of the staff was exceptional: caring, knowledgeable, professional, compassionate, and an excellent human being. The facility is peaceful, clean, and beautiful. They exceeded my expectations and made a difficult time much easier.
