The sandwiches are always consistent, fresh sliced meats and fresh bread. The actual also make a delicious Sicilian pizza. Light and full of taste.
Yesterday I ordered by phone, 4 roast beef heroes, 1 with no onions, mozz and gravy, 1 well done with mozz, onions and gravy, and 2 with mozz, onions and gravy. Not as good as when they were at the original location. The well done had no cheese. My regular had a slice of cheese. None of them seemed like they were warmed sufficiently. Onions were a little raw. Sandwich was a bit dry. Also had a chicken parm which was ok. Used to be a great sandwich but I won't be going back, it's not a destination sandwich like it once was. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't an award winning sandwich to which it's listed as.
I asked for my sandwich to be on a roll and the lady behind the counter used sandwich bread. I didn’t realize this until I went back to work to eat my lunch.
It was my first time here and I was pretty amazed by the variety of hot food that they had.
Sadly I’m a bit turned off by what happened at checkout along with the type of bread.
A sandwich on a roll costs $8.99. The water I was told is $1. The lady behind the counter charged me $11.90. I thought I was getting change back but she took the $1 from the $11.90 and put straight in the tip box. I was about to say something and she turned her back. Not even a thank you or a good bye. Her demeanor was pretty rude. It left me thinking that she charged me $1 extra just to put in her tip box.
Beware of what you pay and ask for a receipt.
John inherited family business, he was personable, hot chocolate for those on the Dyker Heights Christmas Lights Bus tour, informed by Douglas Elliman Real Estate . John's Hot Roast Beef Sub, on soft real Italian bread from local bakery with "the works" on it is FANTABULOUSLY DELICIOUS!!!! 😲 Michael and I inhaled them when we got home! Soooi good!
