Jones Woods Park on Staten Island is a true hiden treasure. It has hiking paths that take you from the sidewalk into the woods. It is really a deer's paradise. I walk with my dog as it is a bit isolated, but it is a lovely way to experience nature in the city.
There is no fee or ticket....you just get on the path and roam
It's a nice place to walk and picnics.☺️
Fresh air. Clean environment. Beautiful place to walk around and go for a mini hike. Definitely feels like fall and you can smell the leaves while you are taking a stroll. This park is easy to get to and parking is pretty easy as well.
Saw some monarda springing up! Lots of good native plants in the mix here. Good to see!
Cropsey tended to autumnal colors, and even this scene must be late summer, judging by the foliage. Long before this site came to be dominated by the Bridge it provided the citizenry with a vista of the Hudson heading out to see and all that lay beyond.
