Lehman College has a lovely well maintained campus. I visited the art gallery for a curator's tour.
The Director Bartholomew Bland is an amazing curator. His thematic contemporary collections are exciting and thought provoking. Under is astute direction the gallery maintains a reputations for showcasing art that speak to today's audiences!
I love being here. The contemorary works here are amazing and each season they always have a new exhibition. The gallery is really clean and medern with good lighting, the staff is amazing, and the opening reception of the exhibitions are fabulous.
The Art Gallery at Lehman College is a space designed by Marcel Breuer and is a true gem for showcasing art work. Not only is the space gifted with vaulted ceilings, ample natural light and airy chambers, the curatorial team is equally adept with uncanny ability in putting together exhibitions that capture the zeitgeist of trends that are ABOUT to explode in the larger contemporary art world scene. From what we can tell, those in the know--KNOW about how special this gallery is--those who do not are pleasantly shocked to discover a wonderful surprise in the Bronx.
