A friend told me there’s a new sushi place in Locust Valley called MOIM. I was curious, so I went tuesday and placed an order. When I saw the prices, I was honestly shocked that a tuna roll is $7.73 😂😂 and the rolls are really small. The chicken skewers were salty and tough, and the two pieces of sushi tasted… well, kind of like the ones you get from a supermarket. I noticed they have a lot of good reviews, so now I’m really curious: What exactly are people tasting that I didn’t? Or is it just that my understanding of sushi isn’t advanced enough? 🤔 Based on the day’s experience, it’s probably not a place I’d return to.

Hands down the best sushi around! Super fresh fish, awesome rolls, and the chirashi bowl is loaded with generous cuts of sashimi. Everything tastes clean and high quality, and the flavors are spot on. The vibe is relaxed, the staff is really friendly, and you can tell they care about the details. Definitely my go-to sushi spot

what a wonderful addition to GC/LV. food is amazing. chef uses the freshest fish. their combo deals are very filling and price wise very affordable. more than that, we sat at the sushi counter and watched as the chef created each piece. I highly recommend sitting at the counter. would absolutely return for both eating in and take out. what a wonderful establishment and wonderful owner. can’t wait to return!

Our new favorite sushi spot. Moving from NYC to Long Island.. it was challenging finding a good sushi spot in Glen Cove, but we are so happy this place recently opened up! Their sushi is fresh and delicious. I like that the menu is focused on sushi/food. Very authentic vibe. Great staff as well. Extremely welcoming and cozy vibe. I highly recommend trying this place.
