I thoroughly enjoyed my time here because my daughters loved every second of it! Will be coming again to read books!

Newburgh library is great; it's huge and has a great selection of books and a helpful staff. The giant floor to ceiling windows on both upper and lower floors provides a scenic view of the Hudson River and waterfront. It's the only library where I can get a bunch of books, sit in a comfy chair and browse, stare, read, relax. For the most part it's quiet, except for when there are childrens' activities on the top floor - then not-so-much. But luckily you can just go downstairs and barely hear the little monsters. The Media dept.s could use an upgrade: very few "new" dvd films ever on hand. And it's nutty that if I want a dvd on religion, I have to know it would be in the books section- which makes NO sense, and needs to be revised. And the music section is unbrowsable the way it's organized- also needs a re-org.

Great space in the heart of the city. Knowledgeable staff, beautiful views, variety of programs for all ages. Used book sales run by the Friends group is a treat for all.
