Typical hip Brooklyn food at the hip Brooklyn price point, although the yuca fries alone make this place worth the visit. Grab a drink and an appetizer and visit with some friends.

I’ve been a customer at Pitanga for five years now, and it’s always been one of my favorite spots for breakfast. My go-to order is a smoothie, breakfast burrito, and pao de quiejo. I’ve brought friends and family here over the years. The food is consistently great and it’s been a place I’ve loved supporting.

That said, I’ve really noticed how much the prices have climbed. My most recent visit came out to over $50 for a breakfast of one. A few years back, that same meal was closer to $30, which already felt pricey.

Pão de queijo is now $9 each! It just feels out of step with the spirit of pão de queijo, which is usually an everyday snack. I’ve actually started making my own at home and for the same $9, I can buy the ingredients for an entire batch.

I’d happily be here every week if the prices were more reasonable. But as much as I love the food, I’m honestly not sure if I should come back. I get that New York is expensive, but the prices here have become so high.

Went here for breakfast with a friend and really enjoyed the food—especially the yuca fries, which were my favorite! The place has a cozy, welcoming vibe that makes it great for a casual bite. I’d definitely come back for the food alone.

That said, the service was just okay. It felt a bit off having to pay and tip at the time of ordering, especially without knowing what kind of service to expect. Nothing about the service stood out, but it wasn’t bad either—just not particularly memorable.

Overall, I’d return for the food and the ambiance more than anything else.

Excellent brunch at this popular, healthy-but-yummy hipster oasis. Kind service throughout from all. Tasty veggie burger and salad. Fine bar and atmosphere. Great cafe attached off dining area. Welcoming vibes for all. A case study for observing a Bushwick class in its own inhabit. Latin infused flavors. Bright natural light. Great drink options. Outside seating if the weather agrees.
