I have eaten there a number of times with my family. Much of their food is not up to NY Metro area diner standards. If you stick with eggs/breakfast, burgers, fries, or fish, you'll be fine. Other dishes, stay away. Dad's salmon was good and the baked potato was done right. The salad was anemic -- not fresh. The chicken souvlaki -- a Greek standard -- was pressed dry and had no seasoning. The tzatziki had some unrecognizable seasoning and had the texture of sour cream and tub caulk. My wife's meat loaf was nothing but unadulterated slop. It too was pressed dry, stale, smothered in awful gravy. As you see from the picture she barely had any of it. Another diner standard -- the cheesecake -- had absolutely no flavor.
The waitress was overextended and run ragged. She did her best to be attentive. We must not be the only one. The manager saw us leaving and said good night. But he did not ask, "Was everything okay?" He probably knows the answer.
Last time I was there, they got my liquor order wrong. The decor is really dated: 80s - 90s miscellaneous.
This diner really needs to pair down its voluminous menu to what dishes it can successfully execute. We spent almost $100 for 3 people and we definitely did not get good value for the dollar.
Please note that in general, I love diners and this is the first one I have left a negative review of.
Big portions!
The stuff are super friendly!
I had wings, caesar salad and vanilla milkshake. All were nice
We visited last Monday i haven’t been to this dinner in years.! The menu is big, the food honestly is ok we order our burgers medium well and they were completely overcooked, we didn’t say anything but we didn’t finish our food I Also order chicken tenders for my daughter, and I feel like they were cook with dirty oil, The onion rings were not completely cooked, The atmospher was good. The service was good. And the food Was just OK Ha ha
Sure! Here's an edited version of your review with a smoother flow:

The Port Chester Diner was okay. I’ve definitely had better, more flavorful omelets at other diners. The one I had was a bit bland, flat, and slightly dry—nothing special. Since eggs are my go-to breakfast option for their simplicity, I tend to compare them across different places, and this one didn’t stand out.
That said, the atmosphere was friendly and welcoming, with a typical diner vibe. It was a nice spot for a meeting, and the service was excellent. Our waiter was super kind, which is always a big plus.
I’d definitely eat there again, especially because of its convenient location. It’s right on the main strip, just off I-95, making it an easy stop. While the food wasn’t memorable, the service and accessibility make it worth another visit.
3.75 Stars.
I've said this before, but will repeat, you can only hold so much until things start falling off.
Customer Service:
Very Good!
Food:
Was a bit less than par.
My experience is; when a menu is too broad nothing is great. Only par. But we had a couple of fails with the food.
Eggplant Chicken
Was a rubbery. Over cooked, or perhaps reheated?
The steak was good on one place then no taste on the next. I was puzzled.
Bathrooms:
Were very clean!
As I have recommended to clients in the past, it's better to master a dish than to not be known for any.
Cut down the menu and focus on making a couple of great dishes then a plethora of boring ones.
I would recommend the managers to read the story of Dave Thomas...
