Woman at the front desk.. I should of asked for her name, but I was too ill to deal with it last night. I can only describe her by what she looked like physically, which is short hair with a reddish tint to it, wore glasses, overweight, pink shirt, took place in the evening 12/15/25. Don't mean to bring up weight as an insult either, just don't want the other woman who was present to get a bad rep for this and simply stating facts. She was unpleasant from the get go.
I've been to this urgent care multiple times. She told me they only had my address from my childhood home.. which is very odd because I have been seen at this urgent care many times. I've never needed to bring my insurance cards, because they always had my information and I've never had to bring them. So when she asked me if I had my insurance cards, I told her I didn't. But what bothered me is that she just kept hassling me.. she kept sort of acting like she wouldn't be able to do anything because I didn't have my cards. I know for a fact that they just have to run my SSN and that my Medicaid and insurance information would show up. I was very very sick, I was running a high fever for days, I could hardly stand and she was picking at me repeatedly for not having my cards and eventually I asked her, is there a problem, I feel like you are trying to get me worked up on purpose and are being extremely rude.. I was about to walk out and she was like "well do you wanna be seen or not?" And handed me the papers to fill out.. why be so rude and pick on me for so long when you could have just given me the papers to fill out, and use my SSN to look up my Medicaid/mvp info.. why push me when I was obviously extremely ill.. and be so snippy about my address? Like, why would I know why you guys had my childhood address from 2007 and everything else was gone? I've been to this urgent care many times. She said the last time I was seen was with that address and that it was a video call in 2007.. they didn't do video calls back in 2007.
It takes a lot for me to get upset, I actually really liked this urgent care and had good experiences most of the time, I do remember having been checked in by her before and she always seems a bit unhappy to help you and stand offish, but it never went this far. She was just making a small issue bigger then it had to be, especially since they easily found my insurance info no problem with the information I provided...
Edit: I will use this urgent care a couple more times to decide if I should start using the other Port Jervis urgent care location.. because for one, I was used to going here and bringing my family here for urgent visits, but two, I like everything else about this place.. I'm going to put it at 2 stars for now, it would of been 1 if everyone had poor bedside manner.. but the doctors and team there are kind and helpful.. and if my future experiences are better I will put it up.. if not me and my family of 3 will bring our business elsewhere and I wont recommend anyone else to go here either.. which I have done a handful of times.
Went mid-afternoon with flu-like symptoms.
Filled out paperwork, saw doctor within 40 minutes. Exam by doctor was thorough, gave me Rx, and was out the door in a timely manner. Professional, prompt service by the entire staff.
Staff is professional.Amanda Hansen is amazing. She's very through. My only complaint is the front door. I have difficulty getting in with my walker and had to go in sideways because it doesn't fit.
