3 stars but only bc I like thin crust pizza and don't like the Semolina on the bottom of pizza. It gets everywhere on the table and floor at home. Otherwise, their hot dishes are above average.

I had eaten here many years ago and remembered it to be a good experience. So my friend who traveled a distance wanted to go to Italian and close to my house. I go to calda quite often but I thought this might be a nice change. And I remembered it so thought would be a good option. First awkward thing is that you have to walk through the pizza. Place area to get to the restaurant area tables. That is the least of it. The staff was warm and welcoming, so that was hopeful. We were seated at a small table, and the table was set very nicely and clean. The gentleman that came over first was the bus boy asking if we wanted tap Water which I definitely did not but I don't think he quite understood that right off the bat. Eventually, the waiter came over and I was able to order a seltzer with lemon and also wanted to put in the appetizer order because we were starving. I ordered a glass of wine. My friend ordered a Diet Coke and we ordered the hot appetizer mixed plate. We also ordered our dishes with the salads that we chose. The salads came and we were eating them when the hot appetizers were brought over to the table. And pretty much left there and no plates were brought to be able to distribute them. We asked the bus boy twice to please bring plates. And that never happened, so we asked the waiter finally and one other bus boy. By the time everyone figured out, all we wanted were 2 clean plates to be able to distribute the appetizers that were sitting there. The appetizers were now cold. We had to send them back to the kitchen to get them heated up again properly. We finally got our plates and our appetizers. And they were actually pretty good, which were the baked clams And stuffed 🍤 🦐 shrimp. I ordered the shrimp riella which is I guess a house specialty. Since that is the name of the restaurant and my friend got his dish, which he enjoyed because he is obsessed with everything very salty. I do not salt my food and the dish was not even edible. It was so salty. It was not the prosciutto that made it salty or the Mozzarella as the young man (17 years old...) who introduced himself as one of the family that owns the restaurant said that it was...when he came around to ask about our experience. The salty issue was the sauce plain and simple... He had already said he would buy me. My sangria which I ordered second after the wine because of the appetizer issue and I was grateful for that. Now my main dish is not even edible. It was so salty. I could tell the quality of the food was good. It just was that sauce. He didn't seem to care that it was inedible and just apologized and walked away. Lol. Was BIZARRE. Why are you going to ask patrons if everything is okay if when they tell you that it's not. You don't even do anything about it? And normally I don't care how somebody dresses and I know it's not a dressy place. But this kid was going around from table to table. Wearing a stretched out Gray T-shirt and looked very sloppy, to be honest. Asking, how everything is and an unsatisfied customer. He just debates that it's the cheese and the ham and not the sauce. It was just a very strange experience. Unfortunately, I was not able to eat my main dish, and I was starving so when I sent it back, they asked me if I wanted something else. And at that point I was nervous that it would be Too salty as well...Since my friend's dish didn't even require any salt. And he puts salt on salad! He told this kid flat out his was VERY SALTY and he didn't mind it... but def was VERY SALTY! Again was a weird response and then he walked away! Lol. When the bill came, he had charged me for both sangrias. Because I ordered a second one, and when I brought it app that he said he had been going to pay for my first sangria he replied I Paid for your dinner!!! Can u IMAGINE? I SENT MY DINNER BACK because it was inedible! Lol. So, he BROKE HIS WORD and didn't pay for the sangria which also wasn't that great! Needless to say... I WILL NOT be going back to Riellas in Levittown ever again. And I will relay my bad experience! 👎👎👎
