I visited this park for the Illumination NYC Festival and the vibes were incredible! It was so nice to see so many people enjoying their outdoor public space with one another. They had a DJ and lots of activities and even a food truck. The views from the park were also amazing as it is right on the water. Would recommend checking out this park if you're in the area! Remember to leave no trace and pick up after yourself so these places can stay beautiful!
A must see if you are visiting lower Manhattan! The park recently reopened in summer 2025 and offers beautiful grass lawns, a hilltop panoramic views of the Hudson Bay, and beautiful places to sit and enjoy nature. Many wheelchair and stroller friendly pathways and the park connects to the larger Hudson River Esplanade. Love coming here after work with my little one to decompress after the day. So grateful for more green space in our neighborhood!
An absolutely stunning view and an extremely clean park. I was blown away by the layout of this gorgeous park on the southern tip on Manhattan. It was equally impressive to see the amazing art being displayed publicly. I truly hope the city does this again. I would highly recommend checking this place out and spending the afternoon or evening
We visited Wagner Park during the Illumination Festival and were blown away by the views and energy. The park overlooks the water with a beautiful sightline to the Statue of Liberty, especially stunning at sunset. There were families, people walking their dogs, and lots of photo opportunities - the space feels open and welcoming.
It was very clean, and during the festival there were fun interactive installations and lighting. The park is easily accessible: you can get there via the Bowling Green station (4/5 train) or by 1 train to Rector Street and walking along Battery Place. Definitely a spot I’d go back to on a clear evening to stroll, take photos, or just soak in the view.

There’s a quiet strength in its design now, like it’s ready for whatever comes next. I love how it blends nature and city life so effortlessly, and walking through it each day reminds me why I fell in love with this corner of Manhattan in the first place.
