An Excellent Internal Medicine Doctor. I previously had another pcp. When my medical insurance changed to Humana, my pcp changed to Dr. Roberto Gabitto at Clevenland Clinic Weston. During my first appointment, Dr. Gabitto went through a review of all my records and started asking me questions related to my health.
One simple questions was about my vision. I told him the story about certain episode that happened to me about a year ago in which I almost lost my vision in both of my eyes for a few minutes, and that the same episode repeated later on about 4 more times: 2, 4, 8, 14 weeks later, until finally it disappeared.
Since I had never met my previous pcp, I was seen by her assistant the nurse practitioner, which didn’t pay too much attention to the vision episodes story, and just referred me to an ophthalmologist, I was then diagnosed with optical migraines.
Then I continued informing Dr. Gabitto about the diagnose of optical migraines. He immediatly told me that he was ordering an MRI of the brain w/wo contrast and also an MRA. About two weeks later Dr. Gabitto himself called me on the phone and told me that the imaging results found that I had a lacunar infarct in my brain, and that even though my cholesterol levels were normal, I needed to reduce my ldl below 70. So he put me in the right medication and referred me to a Neurologist.
I tell this story because having an excellent doctor like Roberto Gabitto makes a difference, and can improve quality of life and even save lives, like he did with mine
Dr. Gabitto is very thorough and has a good bedside manner. He always calls to follow up when I get tests done. The office staff is friendly and I hardly ever wait to be seen more than a few minutes. I trust him and recommend him.
