We had the Côte de Boeuf — overall flavour was rich and robust. Most parts were tender and juicy, though some pieces had a bit of tendon and were hard to chew. The fries were shoestring-style and very tasty, perfectly seasoned and crispy. Cozy bistro vibes — worth a try if you enjoy classic steak frites.
Great service, friendly people, nicely decorated, a little cramped (or cozy if you’re generous), some food is better than others. The mussels were ok but not amazing. The escargot was tender but bland. The steak frites were very good especially if you add sauce on it. Good variety of drink.
A charming little restaurant with excellent staff and amazing food. We went on a whim for a 45th birthday celebration and it was wonderful. We would definitely recommend people go.
The steaks are cooking amazingly, but they were slightly larger for us, they had no problem with us sharing. Also the desserts are heavenly!
Definitely give a cocktail a try! We loved ours. The Lucious Lichi was so good!
Steak frites is France’s most classic meat-and-potatoes meal, a bistro staple, and the ultimate comfort food. The idea behind the dish is to dip the fries into the steak juices on the plate. Both Belgium and France claim a stake in the founding of this dish. While Belgium may have created it, it didn’t become popularized until French chefs perfected it.
Located on 9th Avenue in Hell’s Kitchen, my partner and I were looking forward to dining at Steak Frites Bistro before our show. A reservation was easily made via Resy.
Upon arrival as first-timers, we were transported to a cozy bistro in Paris. Greeted by the host, Pierre, a table was ready for us by the window inside their beautifully designed main dining room with a warm, inviting atmosphere that made us feel right at home with an authentic French vibe. They have an additional dining room called the Peacock Room that’s charming, quaint, and quieter for private events.
The menu changes seasonally and comprises all the authentic French bistro classics. We decided on the Lunch Pre-Fixe. As an appetizer, we decided on the Salade Verte and Soupe à l'Oignon Gratinée. For our main, we opted for the Steak Frites. For dessert, we got the Crème Brûlée and Chocolat Ganache Tarte.
All were well prepared; flavors were incredible, tasty & simple in their execution. The service was exceptional: incredibly attentive, friendly, and professional throughout the entire meal. Our server was Agnes.
This spot buzzes with theatergoers, locals, and food lovers drawn to the area’s diverse dining scene, which we can recommend.
We LOVED everything about this place! The atmosphere was cozy and beautiful, loved the decor. The food was so delicious, and the portions were extremely generous for the price! Everything from the onion soup and salads to the steak frites and roast chicken were so delightful. Cocktails were thoughtful and well-balanced, and the service was extremely prompt and friendly. Our server recommended a wonderful dessert wine that we loved! 10/10!
