Mostly great instructors! Great training! But with a small story to tell.

Went for my checkride December 2023.
Drove down to KOXC
Met the people who flew the plane from its base, KMGJ.
Finished and passed the checkride.
Received a charge for the flight back to KMGJ.
I was not on the flight back.
Charged me over 600$ and signed off without my permission whatsoever

Great school! Horrible business practices.

I took the CFI initial course at Take Flight this past June and had an amazing experience. As someone who has trained at four other flight schools across the country, I can say undoubtedly that the quality of training that Take Flight provides is phenomenal. Every instructor I flew with is dedicated to their job and helping you succeed. The course is very well structured under Mitch and Caoilainn, and I had a really easy time adjusting to both flying diamond airplanes and preparing for my check ride. Jared and Hannah did a great job working around conflicts to pack my schedule full with flights so I was able to get through the course in just over a month since I was staying from out of town. The diamond airplanes are very modern and well maintained, and are priced reasonably for what you get. Ryan arranged a check ride date less than two weeks after I graduated. Highly recommend to anyone who wants to get their CFI done quickly at a great school.

We had a really great experience with Take Flight Academy. My son connected right away with the instructors, especially Tom. He was patient, knowledgeable, and always made sure my son felt confident. Tom went out of his way to keep in close communication and really taught him so much.

Jared was also super helpful with scheduling. Even though cancellations happened sometimes (which we understand is part of flying), Jared always made sure my son was rescheduled and kept things moving.

Anytime we had questions or concerns, the staff was quick to respond and very willing to help. Overall, we’re really thankful for the support and experience my son had here and he was able to successfully obtain his Private Pilot License at 17!

I did Part 61 PPL training at Take Flight, and I couldn't have been happier there. The curriculum is well-designed, and the coordination between CFIs is outstanding, which ensured training stayed on track and there was always forward progress.

Everybody I interacted with - from the instructors to the line guys to scheduling to maintenance - was exceptionally friendly and always ready to help. If I'd see them in passing, they would greet me by name, check in on my progress and cheer me on. Everybody acted like stakeholders, which is a big green flag for any organization.

I can highly recommend this school, and I'm hoping to get additional ratings there as well.
