Located on the South Shore of Staten Island, this beautiful park offers a peaceful escape from the city. Recently improved and well maintained, it’s perfect for walking, jogging, or simply relaxing in nature. There’s plenty of open space for picnics, a playground for children, and scenic trails that invite you to explore. The park also features a small visitors center with information about local history and wildlife. A wonderful spot for families, runners, and anyone looking to enjoy the outdoors.
My wife and I had our first look in front of the Conference House on our wedding day. It gives off little house on the prairie vibes and it makes for good pictures especially for a wedding. This place will always hold something near and dear in my heart just because I saw my wife in her wedding dress for the very first time and it made me fall in love all over again. Perfect place for photos.
I attended an enjoyable reenactment held yearly of the failed 1776 Peace Conference here between British representative Lord Richard Howe and American delegates Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, and Edward Rutledge.
Historically significant 17th century mansion. It is called the Conference House since Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, and Edward Rutledge met with Lord Howe here on September 11, 1776, in an unsuccessful attempt to halt the American revolution. Surrounded by beautiful park. Nice modern viewing station overlooking Raritan Bay.
Visited on a lovely summer afternoon. Took a tour of the Conference House with a knowledgeable guide ($5 a person). The place is full of history. Well maintained and fascinating. The park is large, and right by the water. Bathroom facilities and a great place to walk your dog.
