Having just relocated to a brand new office space on Merrick Road, The Doctor's Office of Merrick stands as a beacon of old-fashioned care in an era where medical visits often feel like hurried transactions. From the moment you step into their new location, you're wrapped in an atmosphere of warmth and efficiency.
The layout of the clinic is a testament to thoughtful design, seamlessly blending modern amenities with a comforting ambiance. It's evident that every detail has been meticulously planned to enhance the patient experience, from the cozy waiting area to the well-appointed examination rooms.
However, what truly sets The Doctor's Office of Merrick apart is its exceptional staff. The front desk team greets you with genuine smiles and treats you like family from the moment you arrive. They go above and beyond to ensure that your needs are met, tirelessly assisting you until your issue is resolved. Personally, I had a medication which was sold out in my usual pharmacy. Not only did the front desk staff make suggestions of not one – but 4 local (smaller) pharmacies – but they even provided the phone numbers and told me which ones would deliver my medication! They asked if I needed any assistance with having them call to check the medication’s availability – and, after I’d told them that I could handle making a few calls – they followed up to make sure I was all taken care of. (I must say – I felt as if I were a family member of the staff, with the attentive way that they treated me.)
We went back a few weeks later – just to have my son get his eye looked at after an allergic reaction – they saw him right away – got him some eye drops and had the note ready (for school) before we even checked out!

Founded by Dr. Mark Haltrecht, this is an office filled with medical professionals who get an A+ from me in bedside manner and professionalism.

In the current day and age, where people go to walk in clinics for convenience and in order to see a medical professional quickly - that it has devolved into a conveyor belt style "get them in and get them out" type business model where there is very little bedside manner or caring. Had my first visit here today and certainly won't be my last. Shout outs to Sandra at front desk who took my phone call to the office and checked me in, very professional and kind. Jessica took my blood which was 100% painless. Shane, the PA was friendly, professional and completely answered all questions. Finally, Flavia, who helped with the check out and assisted me with paperwork and ensured that everything was complete. This place is a gem in Merrick. Wish I knew about it sooner.
