Due to shortages in medical staff, "retired" doctors have been pulled back in -and only 3 doctors are staffed to handle the patient load. As such, getting a quickly scheduled visit can be difficult, and wait times can be 45min to an hour beyond your appointment time to be called in by a nurse, to wait another 15-30 minutes for a doctor after the nurse takes your height, weight, blood pressure, and oxygen flow -and has you go over your prior data to document any changes that may have occurred since precious visits.
It isn't ideal. I've had far worse though.
Some of the wait is due to the area being dense with elderly communities, and as such, patient difficulty can cause the doctors to be held up.
Plan ahead before you show up is all I can say. Welcome to the Post-COVID healthcare experience!
My doctor has been great though, very clear in making his assessments, suggesting, etc.
Also, keep in mind that all doctors need data from you to do their role effectively. The more you can accurately report what you eat, changes in your body through day, etc greatly impacts a doctor's ability to help you -but you need to help yourself first by having good data to provide the doctor. If not, a misdiagnosis based on patient data error is possible and you could end up being treated for one thing when one little detail in symptoms would pinpoint a different issue entirely. Unfortunately a lot of symptoms can overlap between root causes, which is why the devil is in the little details. They need accurate data from you to do the job right.
PS - Masks are mandatory in all medical situations/buildings. WEAR A MASK, please.
And yes, certain front desk staff should be more mindful of their conversations and speech and not let frustrations with patients effect their professionalism and should not be gossipy about the patients while there are patients waiting.
