This is such a sweet library. The staff is incredibly helpful. The books are really organized according to the Dewey decimal system.
It was one of the nicest, cleanest and most welcoming libraries I have ever been in. The library staff was SOOOOO WELCOMING and so informative of the library's history which is so rare in the NYC public libraries.
Each room was spaciously laid out so you can study, work or just casually read at your leisure.
There were comfortable leather couches in 2 of the main reading rooms. There was even a Keurig coffee maker that you could make a coffee for $1 a cup - better than Starbies!
One room that was the media room had 2 windows computers and 2 Mac computers along with a huge TV and a spacious wood table that allowed for laptop connectivity and phone recharging. This was extremely helpful since I had to work while my kid was at the Renaissance Faire.
The historical room upstairs had a marvelous table and books that detailed the enlightening history of Tuxedo, NY.
Overall, this was a library that would make illiterates want to read in an atmosphere that makes you feel like home... Cannot wait to return ...
Thank you to the Tuxedo staff for being so welcoming to me for the 4 hours that I was in residence at your beautiful establishment!!!
My library is better than yours!!! LOVE this library!
Has to most recent books, friendliest staff, has museum passes to the Museum of Natural History, Intrepid, Guggenheim, Dia, Storm King and more. Plus their adult and kids programs are great and has fun monthly activities like baking kits, coloring placemats, guess the jar, book bingo. So much fun!
You can also bring your old flags here and glasses.
If Norman Rockwell were alive today, he would celebrate the charm and sincerity of this perfectly appointed library, filled with helpful staff and the feel of a bygone era. Be sure to take a visit to the local history sections upstairs. Kids programming galore. This is a gem. Americana at finest.
We are new SOS customers and recently had new propane tanks and hookups installed for our generator.
The office staff were very helpful in setting up our appointments. Kevin came out to advise us on tank placement. Chris was the technician who brought the tanks and installed them as well as did all of the indoor installation. He clearly explained the setup and got the job done in some extreme winter weather. Thank you, SOS!
